Meet: Jojoba Oil!

Tiny Moments Jojoba Olie met pipet

We have added a new product to our range: jojoba oil. We are very excited about this versatile oil, because this product fits perfectly into a self-care routine. But what exactly is jojoba oil and how do you use it during a moment for yourself? Time for a closer look at this miracle oil.

What is jojoba oil?

Let's start at the beginning: jojoba oil is actually not an oil, but a liquid wax extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant. This plant grows in the warm, dry deserts of North America and Mexico and is resistant to extreme weather conditions. This ensures that the oil we extract from the seeds is packed with nourishing properties.

How is jojoba oil made?

Jojoba oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the plant. This means that no heat is used during the production process, so all vitamins and antioxidants are retained. Cold pressing is therefore the way to ensure that the oil retains its pure power.

What is jojoba oil good for?

Jojoba oil is a true multitasker! Whether you want to boost your skin, hair or even your bath routine, this oil does it all. It is a natural moisturizer for the skin, perfect for taming frizzy hair and ideal as a base oil for massages and bath oil. Because this oil is so close to your skin's natural oil, it can be used by people with different skin types – from dry to oily, and everything in between.

What are the benefits of jojoba oil?

Jojoba oil is packed with active ingredients that work wonders for both your skin and hair. Here are a few key benefits:

  • Deeply moisturizes: Jojoba oil penetrates deep into the skin and retains moisture without clogging pores, making it ideal for people with dry skin or skin prone to acne.

  • Balances the skin: Because jojoba oil resembles the natural sebum of our skin, it can help balance sebum production, making it suitable for both oily and dry skin.

  • Anti-aging properties: Thanks to its high concentration of vitamin E and antioxidants, jojoba oil helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and protects the skin from harmful external influences.

  • Soothes the skin: Its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe irritated skin and treat skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

  • Cares for the hair: Jojoba oil nourishes the hair, makes it shiny and helps combat dryness and brittleness. It can also help with an itchy or flaky scalp.

How to use jojoba oil?

Jojoba oil can be used in many ways, including:

  • Face and body: Apply a few drops directly to the skin for hydration and protection.

  • Hair: Massage jojoba oil into your hair and scalp for extra shine and moisture, or use it as a leave-in conditioner to tame frizzy hair.

  • Massage oil: Mix jojoba oil with essential oils for a relaxing massage.

  • Bath oil: Add a few drops of jojoba oil to your bath water to keep your skin soft and hydrated.

What to look for when buying jojoba oil?

If you are going to buy jojoba oil, make sure you choose a 100% pure, cold-pressed variant that is organic and free from harmful additives. A handy trick to check if you have pure jojoba oil in your hand: in addition to the label, also look at the color of the oil. Pure jojoba oil has a beautiful, golden hue. The clearer and more odorless the oil, the more it has been processed, which you should preferably avoid.

What does jojoba oil CP mean?

Sometimes you see 'jojoba oil CP' on the label. CP stands for "cold-pressed," which means that the oil has been extracted without heating. As mentioned earlier, this is the best way to ensure that all nutrients and benefits are retained.

Tiny Moments Jojoba Oil

Now we come to the final question: why have we added jojoba oil to our range? Because this is an ideal base oil for massage oil and bath oil, which you mix with one of our pure essential oils. And let (self)massage and bath oil fit perfectly with a relaxing moment for yourself!

We have various delightful essential oils in our range, but these are too concentrated to apply directly to your skin. This pure oil is also not suitable for use as bath oil, because essential oil does not mix well with water. By adding jojoba oil as a neutral base oil, you can mix pure essential oil well, making it a wonderful product as massage oil and bath oil.

At Tiny Moments, we always choose natural, pure products of the highest quality. Our jojoba oil is 100% natural, cold-pressed and comes from organically grown jojoba plants.

In our next blog post, we will delve deeper into how you can precisely use this versatile oil in your daily routine. Stay tuned for tips and inspiration!
